DOCTRINE
THE HOLY SCRIPTURES
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally and plenary inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible and God-breath and therefore are the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to Man. The Scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning. The King James Version of the Bible shall be the official and only translation used by the church (II Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21).
THE GODHEAD
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; John 14:10, 26).
THE PERSON AND WORK OF CHRIST
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men (Isa. 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19-21; Gal. 4:4-5; Phil. 2:5-8).
THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement; and, that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption (John 16:8-11; Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 12:12-14; 2 Cor. 3:6; Eph. 1:13-14).
We believe that the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as speaking in tongues and the gift of healing were temporary. We believe that speaking in tongues was never the common or necessary sign of the baptism or filling of the Holy Spirit and that ultimate deliverance of the body from sickness or death awaits the consummation of our salvation in the resurrection, though God frequently chooses to answer the prayers of believers for physical healing (1 Cor. 1:22; 13:8; 14:21-22).
THE TOTAL DEPRAVITY OF MAN
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and that man is totally depraved, and of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition (Gen. 1:26-27; Rom. 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Eph. 2:1-3; 4:17-19).
SALVATION
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by repentance of sin and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins (John 1:12; Eph. 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; Luke 13:3; Acts 20:21).
THE ETERNAL SECURITY AND ASSURANCE OF BELIEVERS
We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Rom. 8:1, 38-39; 1 Cor. 1:4-8; 1 Pet. 1:4-5).
THE CHURCH
We believe that the local church, which is the body and the espoused bride of Christ, is solely made up of born-again persons (1 Cor. 12:12-14; 2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 1:22-23; 5:25-27).
We believe in the autonomy of the local church, free of any external authority or control (Acts 13:1-4; 15:19-31; 20:28; Rom. 16:1, 4; 1 Cor. 3:9, 16; 5:4-7, 13; 1 Peter 5:1-4).
SEPARATION
We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord; and that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded of God (Rom. 12:1-2; 14:13; 2 Cor. 6:14- 7:1; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; 1 John 2:15-17; 2 John 9-11).
THE SECOND ADVENT OF CHRIST
We believe in that “blessed hope,” the personal, imminent return of Christ who will rapture His Church prior to the seven-year tribulation period. At the end of the Tribulation, Christ will personally and visibly return with His saints, to establish His earthly Messianic Kingdom which was promised to the nation of Israel (Ps. 89:3-4; Dan. 2:31-45; Zech. 14:4-11; I Thess. 1:10; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Rev. 3:10; 19:11-16; 20:1-6).
THE ETERNAL STATE
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment (Matt. 25:46; John 5:28, 29; 11:25-26; Rev. 20:5-6, 12-13).
THE PERSONALITY OF SATAN
We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin and the cause of the fall of man; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man, that he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire (Job 1:6-7; Isa. 14:12-17; Matt. 4:2-11; 25:41; Rev. 10:10).
CREATION
We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as unscriptural theories of origin (Gen. 1-2;).
CIVIL GOVERNMENT
We believe that God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three basic institutions: 1) the home; 2) the church; and 3) the state. Every person is subject to these authorities, but all (including the authorities themselves) are answerable to God and governed by His Word. God has given each institution specific Biblical responsibilities and balanced those responsibilities with the understanding that no institution has the right to infringe upon the other. The home, the church, and the state are equal and sovereign in their respective Biblically-assigned spheres of responsibility under God. (Rom. 13:1-7; Eph. 5:22-24; Heb. 13:17; 1 Pet. 2:13-14).
MARRIAGE
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. Gen. 2:24; Ge. 19:5, 13; Gen. 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1- 30; Rom. 1:26-29; 1 Cor. 5:1; 6:9; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4).
We believe that God hates divorce and intends marriage to last until one of the spouses dies. Although divorced and remarried persons or divorced persons may hold positions of service in the church and be greatly used of God for Christian service, they may not be considered for the offices of pastor or deacon. (Mal. 2:14-17; Matt. 19:3-12; Rom. 7:1-3; 1 Tim. 3:2; Titus 1:6).
ABORTION
We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or the mental well-being of the mother are acceptable. (Job 3:16; Psalms 51:5; 139:14-16; Isa. 44:24; 49:1, 5; Jer. 1:5; 20:15-18; Luke 1:44).
MISSIONS
We believe that God has given the church a great commission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations so that there might be a great multitude from every nation, tribe, ethnic group, and language group who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. As ambassadors of Christ, we must use all available means to go to the foreign nations and not wait for them to come to us. (Matt. 28:19-20; Mark 16:15: Luke 24:46-48; John 20:21; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:20).
LAWSUITS BETWEEN BELIEVERS
We believe that Christians are prohibited from bringing civil lawsuits against other Christians or the church to resolve personal disputes. We believe the church possesses all the resources necessary to resolve personal disputes between members. We do believe, however, that a Christian may seek compensation for injuries from another Christian’s insurance company as long as the claim is pursued without malice or slander. (1 Cor. 6:1-8; Eph. 4:31-31).
GIVING
We believe that every Christian, as a steward of that portion of God’s wealth entrusted to him, is obligated to support his local church financially. We believe that God has established the tithe as a basis for giving, but that every Christian should also give other offerings sacrificially and cheerfully to the support of the church, the relief of those in need, and the spread of the Gospel. We believe that a Christian relinquishes all rights to direct the use of the tithe or offering once the gift has been made. (Gen. 14:20; Prov. 3:9- 10; Acts 4:34-37; 1 Cor: 16:2; 2 Cor. 9:6-7; Gal. 6:6; Eph. 4:28; 1 Tim. 5:17-18; 1 John 3:17).
DOCTRINA
LAS SAGRADAS ESCRITURAS
Nosotros creemos que las Sagradas Escrituras del Antiguo y Nuevo Testamento forman la Palabra de Dios, inspirada de forma plenaria y verbal. Las Escrituras son infalibles y dadas directamente por Dios, y son la autoridad final en todo asunto de fe y práctica. Los sesenta y seis libros del Antiguo y Nuevo Testamento son la completa revelación de Dios para el hombre. Las Escrituras serán interpretadas de acuerdo a su significado normal gramatical-histórico. La Versión Reina Valera de la Biblia será la única traducción oficial utilizada por la iglesia (II Timoteo 3:16-17; II Pedro 1:20-21).
LA DEIDAD
Creemos en un Dios Trino, existiendo eternamente en tres personas – Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo – cada uno co-eternos en existencia, co-idénticos en naturaleza, iguales en poder y gloria, con los mismos atributos y perfección (Deut. 6:4; Mateo 28:19; II Cor. 13:14; Juan 14:10,26)
LA PERSONA Y OBRA DE CRISTO
Creemos que el Señor Jesucristo, el eterno Hijo de Dios se hizo hombre sin dejar de ser Dios, habiendo sido concebido por el Espíritu Santo y nacido de la Virgen María, para que por medio de Él, Dios fuese revelado y así redimir al hombre pecador (Isaías 7:14; 9:6; Lucas 1:35; Juan 1:1-2,14; II Cor. 5:19-21; Gal. 4:4-5; Filp. 2:5-8).
LA PERSONA Y OBRA DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO
Creemos que el Espíritu Santo es una persona que convence al mundo de pecado, de justicia, y de juicio; y que Él es el Agente Sobrenatural en regeneración, bautizando a todo creyente en el cuerpo de Cristo, morando y sellando hasta el día de redención (Juan 16:8-11; Romanos 8:9; I Cor. 12:12-14; II Cor. 3:6; Efes. 1:13-14).
Creemos que los dones del Espíritu Santo, como el hablar en lenguas y el don de la sanidad eran temporales. Creemos que el hablar en lenguas nunca fue la común o necesaria señal de bautismo o llenura del Espíritu Santo. La liberación final de enfermedad y muerte de este cuerpo es la consumación de nuestra salvación en la Resurrección, aunque Dios a veces escoge contestar oraciones de los creyentes para salud física. (I Cor. 1:22; 13:8; 14:21-22).
LA DEPRAVACIÓN TOTAL DEL HOMBRE
Creemos que el hombre fue creado a la imagen y semejanza de Dios, pero por el pecado de Adán la raza humana cayó, heredando una naturaleza pecaminosa y se alienó de Dios; y el hombre es totalmente depravado e incapaz por sí mismo para poder remediar su condición perdida. (Gen. 1:26-27; Rom. 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Efes. 2:1-3; 4:17-19).
SALVACIÓN
Creemos que la salvacion es un regalo de Dios traida al hombre por gracia y recibida por el arrepentimiento y fe personal en el Senor Jesucristo, cuya preciosa sangre fue derramada en el Calvario para el perdon de nuestros pecados (Juan 1:12; Efes. 1:17; Efes. 2:8-10; I Pedro 1:18-19; Lucas 13:3; Hechos 20:21).
LA SEGURIDAD ETERNA Y GARANTÍA DE LOS CREYENTES
Creemos que todos los redimidos, una vez salvos son guardados por el poder de Dios y así están seguros en Cristo para siempre (Juan 6:37-40; Juan 10:27-30; Rom. 8:1, 38-39; I Cor. 1:4-8; I Pedro 1:4-5).
LA IGLESIA
Creemos que la iglesia local, la cual es el cuerpo y la novia desposada de Cristo es formada únicamente de personas nacidas de nuevo (I Cor. 12:12-14; II Cor. 11:2; Efes. 1:22-23; Efes. 5:25-27).
Creemos en la autonomía de la iglesia local libre de toda autoridad y control externo (Hechos 13:1-4; Hechos 15:19-31; Hechos 20:28; Rom. 16:1-4; I Cor. 3:9,16; I Cor. 5:4-7,13; I Pedro 5:1-4).
SEPARACIÓN
Creemos que todos los salvos deben de vivir de tal manera que no traigan reproche a su Salvador y Señor y que esa separación de toda apostasía religiosa, toda mundanalidad y placeres mundanos, prácticas y asociaciones con el pecado es un mandato de Dios (Rom. 12:1-2; 14:13; II Cor. 6:14-7:1; II Tim. 3:1-5; I Juan 2:15-17; II Juan 9-11).
LA SEGUNDA VENIDA DE CRISTO
Creemos en la “esperanza bienaventurada” del regreso inminente y personal de Cristo, quien se llevará a su iglesia antes del período de siete años de tribulación. Al final de la tribulación, Cristo personalmente y visiblemente regresará con sus santos a establecer su reino Terrenal Mesiánico el cual fue prometido a la nación de Israel (Salmo 89:3-4; Dan. 2:31-45; Zac. 14:4-11; 1 Tes. 1:10; 1 Tes. 4:13-18; Tito 2:31; Ap. 3:10; 19:11-16; 20:1-6).
EL ESTADO ETERNO
Creemos en la resurrección corporal de todos los hombres, los salvos a vida eterna y los no salvos a juicio y castigo eterno (Mat. 25:46; Jn. 5:28-29; 11:25-26; Apoc. 20:5-6, 12-13).
PERSONALIDAD DE SATANÁS
Creemos que Satanás es una persona, el autor del pecado y la causa de la caída del hombre; que es abiertamente el enemigo de Dios y el hombre; y que será castigado eternamente en el Lago de Fuego (Job 1:6-7; Is. 14:12-17; Mat. 4:2-11; Mat. 25:41; Ap. 20:10).
LA CREACIÓN
Creemos que Dios creó el universo en un período de seis días de 24 horas literales. Rechazamos la evolución, la teoría de la Brecha, la teoría de Día como Edades, y la Evolución Teística como teorías de origen sin base Bíblica (Gen. 1-2; Ex. 20:11).
GOBIERNO CIVIL
Creemos que Dios ha ordenado y creado toda autoridad que consiste de tres instituciones básicas: 1) El hogar; 2) La iglesia; 3) El estado. Cada persona está sujeta a estas autoridades, pero todos (incluyendo las autoridades mismas) son responsables ante Dios y gobernados por Su Palabra. Dios ha dado a cada institución responsabilidades bíblicas específicas y balancear las responsabilidades con el entendimiento de que ninguna institución tiene derecho de infringir una sobre otra. El hogar, la iglesia, y el estado son iguales y soberanos en sus respectivas esferas de responsabilidades asignadas bíblicamente bajo Dios (Rom. 13:1-7; Ef. 5:22-24; Heb. 13:17; 1 Ped. 2:13-14).
EL MATRIMONIO
Nosotros creemos que Dios nos ha instruido que ninguna intimidad sexual debe llevarse a cabo fuera del matrimonio entre un hombre y una mujer. Nosotros creemos que cualquier forma de homosexualismo, lesbianismo, bi-sexualidad, relaciones sexuales con animales, incesto, fornicación, adulterio y pornografía son pecados que pervierten el regalo del sexo de parte de Dios (Gn. 2:24; Gn. 19:5, 13; Gn. 26:8-9; Lv. 18:1-30; Ro. 1:26-29; I Co. 5:1; 6:9; 1 Ts. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4).
Nosotros creemos que Dios aborrece el divorcio y tiene como propósito que el matrimonio dure hasta que uno de los cónyuges muera. Aunque los divorciados y los que se han vuelto a casar pueden servir en la iglesia y ser usados grandemente por Dios en la obra cristiana, ellos no pueden ser considerados para los cargos de pastor o diácono. (Mal. 2:14-17; Mt. 19:3-12; Ro. 7:1-3; I Tim. 3:2,12; Tito 1:6).
EL ABORTO
Nosotros creemos que la vida humana comienza en el momento de la concepción y que el ser aun no nacido es un ser humano que tiene vida. El aborto es un asesinato. Nosotros rechazamos cualquier enseñanza acerca de abortar por causas de violación, o incesto, o defectos físicos, o por no ser el ser humano aun no nacido del género que deseamos (varón o hembra), o por control natal, o para beneficio del estado mental de la mujer (Job 3:16; Sal. 51:5; 139:14-16; Isa. 44:24; 49:1, 5; Jer. 1:5; 20:15-18; Lc. 1:44).
MISIONES
Nosotros creemos que Dios ha dado a la iglesia la gran comisión de proclamar el evangelio a todas las naciones para que pueda haber una gran multitud de toda nación, tribu, grupo étnico y grupos de cualquier lenguaje que cree en el Señor Jesucristo. Como embajadores de Cristo nosotros debemos usar todos los medios disponibles para ir a naciones extranjeras y no esperar a que ellos vengan a nosotros (Mt. 28:19-20; Mr. 16:15; Lc. 24:46-48; Jn. 20:21; Hch. 1:8; II Cor. 5:20).
DEMANDAS LEGALES ENTRE CREYENTES
Nosotros creemos que los cristianos tienen prohibido traer demandas civiles de tipo legal en contra de otros cristianos o a la iglesia para resolver disputas de tipo personal. Nosotros creemos que la iglesia posee todos los recursos necesarios para resolver disputas personales entre los miembros. Sin embargo, nosotros creemos que un cristiano puede pedir compensación por daños físicos de la compañía de seguro de un cristiano siempre y cuando la demanda no sea hecha con malicia o calumnias (I Cor. 6:1-8; Ef. 4:31-32).
EL DAR
Nosotros creemos que cada cristiano es mayordomo de los bienes que Dios le ha confiado, y responsable de apoyar económicamente su iglesia local. Nosotros creemos que Dios ha establecido el diezmo como una base para dar, pero cada cristiano debe también dar otras ofrendas con sacrificio y gozo para el apoyo de la iglesia, para dar alivio a los necesitados y para propagar el evangelio. Nosotros creemos que un cristiano cede su derecho a dirigir el uso del diezmo u ofrendas una vez que han sido dadas. (Gn. 14:20; Prov. 3:9-10; Hch. 4:24-37; I Cor. 16:2; II Cor. 9:6-7; Gal. 6:6; Ef 4:28; I Tim. 5:17-18; I Jn. 3:17).
